License Reciprocity for Real Estate Salesperson and Broker Licensing

License reciprocity is a standard of practice in which a jurisdiction (i.e., Connecticut ) allows an active licensee from another jurisdiction to practice in its jurisdiction, subject to special license law requirements. This recognition between two jurisdictions is encouraged when mutually advantageous.

Connecticut has Mutual Recognition Agreements with numerous states.License requirements may vary by state so it is important for theConnecticut licensee to first contact the state where they are seeking recognition.

As part of its reciprocity application, most states will require a Certificate of License History from the “domain” state. If you hold or previously held a license in Connecticut you can view and print a Connecticut Certificate of License History Form and mail it to the Department.
